COVID-19 – Updated Travel Information

As of today, most of the covid restrictions are lifted by the government after 16 months. Despite easing of restrictions, we strongly recommend that all our staffs, guests and visitors to wear masks when they in our hotels particularly in the public areas.

14th May 2021

We are happy to announce that as of 17th May 2021 GEM Hotels will reopen for general bookings.

Overnight stays are restricted to groups of up to 6 people or 2 households/bubbles in line with government guidelines. Where reasonably necessary, there is an exemption to the social contact limits for residential visits organised by schools, colleges, further education and higher education providers for educational or educational training purposes. Guests should stay socially distanced from anyone they do not live with or share a bubble with.

We continue to prioritise the safety and security of our guests, employees and contractors. Please mitigate any risk of infection by adopting the practices advised by the Government from time to time.

We reopen with strict hygiene and cleaning protocols in place across our hotel estate, digital menus, digital Hotel information portal and with social distancing measures in place, in compliance with all Government guidelines to keep guests, employees and contractors safe. Key changes around our food and beverage provision are detailed at each hotel. Please do ensure that you follow all of our safety guidelines when checking in. Whilst all Gem Hotels are currently opened to business and leisure guests alike, from Thursday 5th November until 2nd December 2020 in compliance with current government guidelines Gem Hotels will only open for the in house guests, for visitors from abroad who are on holidays , for those who have to travel for work purposes and for other reasons which will be set out by the government. It is anticipated that these will include Key workers and those required to stay for health and educational reasons.

Following Government regulations we are currently able welcome guests who are Key Workers, working in essential sectors or those who require accommodation as their primary residence being unable to travel or return home.

Rooms are allocated on single occupancy basis however double/twin bedded rooms are available for guests who would usually share a residence and can present evidence accordingly.

Our food and beverage provision is limited to Room Service only and other services and facilities, including daily housekeeping, may be restricted in order to prioritize the health and safety of our guests and team members.

We are carefully monitoring the Government, NHS and WHO statements concerning the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and we are following their recommendations as the welfare of our guests and partners is of vital importance.
